What are sessions like?
My style is warm and encouraging, and emphasizes a trusting, safe relationship between us.
Sometimes therapy requires courage and challenges us, and together we can also be playful, creative, and greet the unknown with curiosity. There are many paths to choose from, but all involve expanding on your strengths, drawing from your lived experience to meet your goals, and learning new skills and techniques.
The primary values guiding my work include a nonjudgmental approach, compassion, flexibility, creativity, humility, and tenderness.
As a trauma-informed clinician, I encourage you to go at your own pace. Together, we will practice identifying and implementing your boundaries. I will be checking in frequently and inviting your feedback to ensure transparency, trust, and safety, especially during initial sessions. Together, we will proceed with presence, attunement and self-compassion, rather than pushing through overwhelm, discomfort and pain.
As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I am a pre-licensed clinician, working under the supervision and practice of Rachael Venezia, LMFT #89898.

Fees and Insurance
I do not accept insurance at this time. I can provide a superbill for your reimbursement, which some insurance PPO plans will accept. I do accept payment through FSA/HSA cards.
My fee for couples sessions is $185.00 per 50 minute session.
My fees for individual sessions are on a sliding scale basis, from $185.00 to $125.00 per 50-minute session. We will determine your fee together in advance of your first session. For more information about how sliding scale rate is determined, please read the following criteria and determine which price is appropriate for you:
$185.00 Higher range: You have access to financial security, own property, or have personal savings; if you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life; if you have economic privilege and power in our community, this price is for you.
By choosing this price, you are “paying it forward” and supporting accessible services to others.
$155.00 Middle range: You may be paying off debt or working to build savings, but you also have access to steady income. You do NOT struggle to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.
Making this investment might mean you might have to cut back on some discretionary spending in your life (such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, buying a new outfit, or going on vacation), but the sacrifice is short-term, and will not harm you in the long term.
$125.00 Lower range: You have access to basic needs such as food, housing, and childcare, though sometimes it may feel difficult. You are able to save money/month each week to be able to pay for the program.
Reflecting openly about your financial situation and paying at a level you can afford helps to grow a healthy and sustainable community. If none of these descriptions reflect your current situation, you may refer to this list of low-cost services.
